A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Adamawa State and convener of Fresh Air Diehards movement Alh Saidu Sarkin Zana has disclosed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will never comeback to power again in the state due to its dismal performance when it led the state from 2015 to 2019.
Saidu Sarkin Zana who made the submission in a chat with our reporter on Wednesday, noted that it is incumbent to tell the party in black and white that it will never rule the state because the masses who were at the receiving end of its misrule have vowed to do away with it for good.
“Without any apology to any APC stalwart in Adamawa, we feel obliged to remind the electorates of the 4 most turbulent years our state witnessed under APC led government between 2015 to 2019.
“The local government system virtually ceased to exist under the previous APC led Administration. The local government statutory allocations from the Federation Account were mortgaged by the State.
“Workers at this tier of government were owed between 7-8 months salaries. And when eventually, they are paid one month salary, workers had to go Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Yola to thank His Excellency. At that time, no one can differentiate when a local government staff was on duty or on strike.
“Our Secretariats were reduced to play ground for goats & other domestic animals. At a point, former Governor said on air that, local government workers were only being given SA’s allowance.
“In fact, the Hausa Kannywood actors and actresses were more important & honorable to the then Governor Bindow than a local government Chairman.
“Our local governments only heaved a sigh of relief when His Excellency, Governor Fintiri won the Election in 2019.
“In spite of the on going capital projects across the State, His Excellency made payment of salaries a non issue and workers are much appreciative.
Workers are duty bound to stop APC from returning to power in Adamawa in 2023,” he said.
