𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐮 𝐔𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐮 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐢 on Friday 7th January 2022 launched the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Insignia with the sum of 𝗙𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗡𝟭𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬.𝟬𝟬) 𝗡𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗮.
The 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 donated on behalf of the State Government in the Council Chamber, Government House Yola, and restates the Government’s commitment to give priority to peace and unity in the State.
𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐮 𝐔𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐮 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐢 commended the security agencies for their tenacity in ensuring the peace and safety of the people in the State and promised to continue to engender peace and security of his people as consecrated in his 11 Point Agenda.
𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐢 assured them of his administration’s determination to continue in the direction and approach until all Adamawa people are safe to do their businesses without any security difficulties or obstacles.
The 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑫𝒓. 𝑬𝒅𝒈𝒂𝒓 𝑨𝒎𝒐𝒔 said that the insignia appeal brings out the attention of people to the sacrifice made by fallen heroes in ensuring the safety of the country.
He urged all the people that security and peace is the business of everyone, and pointed out that, this is the right time to honour the fallen heroes either with words or actions through financial donations to support their families so that it will reduce their hardship and suffering, and also serve as an encouragement to the serving officers.
The State Chairman of Legion 𝑴𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑾𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒔 (𝑴𝑾𝑶) 𝑨𝒍𝒊 𝑴𝒖𝒉𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒅 (𝑹𝒕𝒅.) stated that the fallen heroes have contributed immensely to the stabilization of peace in Nigeria and beyond, consequently, he said there is a need for individuals, private sectors, and organizations to support their families.
The Chairman thanked the State Government and individuals that made the free-will donations to support them, therefore he appealed for more financial support from Government, individuals, organizations, etc to enable them to meet the predicament and difficulties of widows, orphans, and injured survivors among them.
Those who made free-will donations include State Chief Judge on behalf of the judiciary donated the sum of Two Hundred Thousand (N200,000.00)Naira, The Secretary to the State Government (SSG) a personal donation of Two Hundred Thousand (N200,000.00) Naira, and Head of Service made a donation on behalf of Permanent Secretaries the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand (N250,000.00) Naira.
The Commissioners Forum donated the sum of Five Hundred Thousand (N500,000.00) Naira, Service Commanders donated Five the sum Hundred and Fifty Thousand (N550,000.00) Naira, Head of Local Government Service donated the sum of Five Hundred Thousand (N500,000.00) Naira, Chairmen of Boards and Parastatals donated the sum of Three Hundred Thousand (N300,000.00) Naira among others.
