Armed forces remembrance day: Fintiri urges support for wives, children of fallen heroes

Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri has called on Nigeria to show respect to fallen heroes and to show concern for their children and window.

Fintiri made the call in an interview with newsmen at the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration on Saturday in Yola.

He said that the fallen heroes had contributed positively for peace and United Nigeria.

“As others have died in the cause of maintaining the peace of the country, we that are alive should also emulate and demonstrate we continue on the peace part and Nigeria should be one at all times,” he said.

Fintiri called on all to demonstrate in showing unity in the country.
According to him, togetherness of this country is not negotiable and in peace and unity.

He said we have no alternative other than to keep Nigeria a united country.

“We will continue to maintain one country and in peace and unity. We the leaders we will continue to deploy development, so that the citizens will feel better and united,” he said.

Warrant Officer, Mohammed Ali (Rtrd), Chairman Nigeria Legion, Adamawa Chapter described the event as special.

He said that the retirees were not tired as they were also contributing their own part in maintaining peace and unity in the state and country at large.

According to him, the Legion is also doing its best in assisting the widows and families of fallen heroes.
