NIPR holds citizen summit on National integration in Bauchi

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Bauchi state Chapter, has concluded all preparations to hold a citizen’s summit on national integration peace and security to proffer solutions for peace building and reconciliation.

Mr Nura Kobi, Chairman publicity committee of the summit who made the announcement while briefing Newsmen on Monday in Bauchi disclosed that the summit will hold on Thursday March 3rd, 2022.

According to Kobi, the summit became necessary due to challenges facing the nation from banditry, terrorism inter and intra ethnic conflicts and other forms of criminality.

“This challenges has widened the trust gap, deepened disaffection and fueling misunderstanding among the various component units of the nation,” he said.

Kobi said that in the summit stakeholders, traditional and religious leaders ,security agencies ,para- military, Civil Society Organisations, Professional bodies among others have all committed to participate.

The Chairman said NIPR as a relationship-building organisation would offer their contributions and proffer solutions to ensure the reactivation of the peaceful relationships between citizens.

“NIPR is out to give citizens the platform to engage in non-violent communication to resolve challenges to the growth and development of Nigeria,” he said.

He, however, disclosed that the summit would be Chaired by Ambassador Dada Chinade, with Prof. Elias Bogoro, Executive Secretary of TETfund as the guest speaker.

Kobi also commended the state Gov. Bala Mohammed, for his continuous support to the Institute and the citizen summit as he promised to be in attendance.
