Residents of Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State have expressed appreciation to the member representing Numan/Demsa/Lamure federal constituency in the house of representatives, Rt. Hon Kwamoti Laori for yet again empowering them with sewing and grinding machines.
The event which took place at the Government Lodge Demsa LGA was attended by hundreds of beneficiaries across the local government.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to our reporter said the gesture shouldn’t have come at a better time as it will help them to become self-reliant.
In her remark Miss Lami Patrick, the commissioner of women affairs in Adamawa State, said the empowerment will go a long way in reducing poverty in the local government.
She urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by voting the member in the forthcoming general election to serve them even better.
Also speaking, commissioner of entrepreneurship development in the state, Hon Iliya James urged the beneficiaries to put the equipments to good use.
He said the gesture will go a long way in reducing poverty and its concomitant effects in the society.
While commending the gesture, the member representing Demsa state constituency in Adamawa State of assembly, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno, said that the empowerment will help the people tremendously.
She called on them to support Laori with their votes come 2023 general election so as to benefit more from his quality representation.
The event which attracted many well wishers and political associates was applauded by the representatives of Hama Bata and Murum Mbula.
The duo appreciated the federal lawmaker’s efforts to minimize poverty and insecurity in his constituency by providing empowerment materials to women and youth in the area.
At least 2 beneficiaries were nominated from the 79 Polling Units of Demsa LGA, this was done to ensure democracy dividends reaches the people at the grassroots, throughout his constituency.
