The organizing secretary of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, Mustapha Atiku Ribadu has disclosed that a beneficiary of electoral heists will never support digital transmission of election result.
Ribadu while contributing to the raging altercation emanating from the submission of a PDP legislator representing Guyuk/Shelleng federal constituency, Gibeon Goroki, said, as a beneficiary of distorted election, it is natural that the governor will secretly move against any process that will ensure free and fair polls in the future knowing fully well that he is at the losing end of the bargain.
Goroki has during a session with newsmen accused Fintiri of working clandestinely to suppress electronic transmission of results.
In agreement with Goroki, Ribadu contended that in the last gubernatorial election, Fintiri and his party have supervised massive electoral malfeasance in Numan, Demsa and Lamurde local governments the strongholds of the PDP, noting that a man who benefitted immensely from such heist, will naturally oppose the reformation of the electoral process.
“We can never be deceived by video clips in which the governor expressed support for electronic transmission of results. It is just an attempt to flow with the tide for the expediency of political correctness while in his capacity as a governor with huge war chest at his disposal worked clandestinely to frustrate the process.
“No amount of spin will erase the fact that the election which brought the governor to power is flawed by massive rigging. So for us who are in the real picture of happenings, the submission of Goroki a PDP federal legislator is a confirmation of what we have said numerously in the past,” Ribdu added.
