As the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) put finishing touches to conduct its national convention, on March 26, 2022, a chieftain of the party in Adamawa State and one of the leading contenders for the position of deputy national chairman north, Sen Abubakar Girei has picked nomination form to vie for the position.
In a phone chat with our reporter, Girei expressed optimism with the massive goodwill and overwhelming support his aspiration has garnered expressing confidence of victory.
Girei, a thoroughbred politician and respected statesman with vast experience across many fields, said he wl bring his wealth of experience to ensure positive changes in the party if elected.
He thanked president Muhammadu Buhari for the way and manner he steered the party and the country, noting that history will remember him as someone who came to national leadership at a time when the country was facing daunting challenges.
Girei expressed confidence that APC will consolidate its strengths after the national convention and will emerge victorious come 2023 general election.
