The speaker Adamawa State House of assembly, Rt. Hon Aminu Iya Abbas has lauded governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his strides at ensuring the development of the grassroot through constituency projects.
The speaker who made the disclosure during a chat with newsmen in his office, Tuesday, said in the history of the state, governor Fintiri is the only governor who approved the constituency project twice.
He noted that the governor has approved N40 million to each constituency which will be accessed through the various line ministries, department and agencies (MDAs), noting that contrary to speculations, the fund is not given to individual lawmakers.
Abbas noted that every member has a chance to present projects that meets the needs and yearnings of his constituency noting that a number of laudable projects have been executed through the constituency projects since the inception of the administration.
He urged the people not to listen to the rumour mill that is agog with speculations that the money is a bribe to lawmakers, adding that lawmakers do not even have the right to access such funds but only to submit proposals to the line MDAs for execution of desirable projects in the constituencies.
