A youth group under the aegis of APC concerned youth in Adamawa has on Monday organized dinner/Iftar in honour of Comrade Mustapha Salihu, the newly elected national vice chairman north east of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The youths who turn in their numbers said they hold the dinner to celebrate one of their own who by dint of hard-work has become their leading light and good ambassador.
Thanking the organizers for their support and recognition of a goal getter, the chairman of APC in Adamawa State, Ibrahim Bilal, said, the gesture was timely.
Bilal who was represented by his deputy Samaila Taddaus appreciated the role Comrade Mustapha Salihu played in the return of the present exco from ward to state levels.
He urged the APC family to continue to support the celebrant for more benefits to accrue to the north east adding that because of his leadership qualities, the people of the north east entrusted him with leading the party at the geo-political level for the second time.
Bilal noted that the intervention of Salihu at a time when many thought the party will implode was responsible for the renewed unity in the party adding that his reelection as national vice chairman north east of APC is a payback to the sacrifices he made to the party.
Also extolling the good virtues of the celebrant, the spokesman of APC, Abdullahi Mohammed, said the victory of Comrade Mustapha Salihu is a reward for his selflessness, doggedness and commitment to the party.
He said majority of the exco from the ward up to the state levels were beneficiaries of Comrade Mustapha Salihu who is one of the brains behind the return of former excos of the party.
“The victory of Mustapha Salihu is a reward from God for the great role he played in the return of the former exco from ward to state levels,” he said.
He thanked Mustapha for the return of the member representing Guyuk/Shelleng federal constituency, Hon Gibeon Goroki who recently defected from the PDP to APC.
Also pouring encomiums on the national vice chairman north east, one of the organizers of the event Hussain Har said Adamawa youth will remain eternally grateful to Comrade Mustapha Salihu.
He said Salihu has through diligence, commitment and hard-work has become one of the shining examples of youths in Nigeria saying that for doing them proud, they deemed it fit to honour him.
Also speaking, an elder of the party, Salihu Baba Ahmed thanked the youths for the brilliant idea of organizing such event which will go a long way in making the celebrant to do more for the party.
He however cautioned the party against hoisting weak and unpopular candidates during the oncoming party primaries adding that such practice if allowed to prevail will lead to unsavory consequences.
Commenting on the gesture, the celebrant, thanked the youth for the unique solidarity.
He promised to maintain the tempo of excellent leadership for which he was recognized and honored.
Salihu said with the renewed spirit in the party, he is upbeat that the APC will win all elective positions from ward to the presidency come 2023 general election.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of certificate of recognition by the youth group to the national vice chairman.
