NAF laid to rest body of late Air Warrant Officer Charles Nalado (Rtd) in Jos

Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has laid to rest the remains of Air Warrant Officer (AWO) Charles Nalado (rtd) who died on 16 April 2022 at the 563 NAF Hospital, Jos, Plateau State.

AWO Charles Nalado served the NAF from the period of 1973 to 2007 respectively. While in the NAF, AWO Nalado had a diplomatic posting to Russia, where he served as the Chief Administration Officer at the Defence Attache in the Nigerian Embassy in Moscow from 1997 to 2001.

The late AWO Nalado was buried at his resident in Rayfield, Jos, which had in attendance sympathizers from far and near including family members, relatives, friends and colleagues who came to bid final farewell to the deceased military veteran and elder statesman.

Speaking during the funeral service and internment, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Air Marshal Isiaka Amao represented by the Commander 551 NAF Station, Jos, Air Commodore Wap Maigida, showered encomium on late AWO Charles Nalado, described his death as a great lost to the NAF. The CAS went further to eulogized the deceased for his meritorious service to the NAF and the Nation.

According to Air Marshal Amao, AWO Nalado while in active service, demonstrated high level of loyalty, patriotism, commitment and gallantry which resulted to his elevation to the inviable rank of Air Warrant Officer in 2005, the highest rank in the Non Commissioned cadre in the NAF and indeed the Armed Forces.

The CAS who is the chief mourner at the occasion, spurred family members and sympathizers to inculcate the good virtues of late AWO Nalado, while praying for God Almighty to comfort the entire family and grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Air Warrant Officer Charles Nalado was born on 26 December, 1945. He hails from Adamawa State. He attended SUM Primary School Lamurde and Gindiri Boy’s High School Plateau and Technical School Numan.

Aged 76, Air Warrant Officer Charles Nalado who was a clerical personnel while in service, attended the following courses: Counter Intelligence, Staff Duties, Document Security and Senior Non Commissions Officers Course.

He would be remembered for his simplicity, hard work and commitment to duty.
