My victory an inspiration to Adamawa women – APC Guber candidate, Binani

The Adamawa state All Progressives Congress, (APC) governorship candidate, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani, has declared that her emergence as her party’s flag bearer for the gubernatorial race in 2023 elections would go a long way to inspire womenfolk in the country.

Senator Binani made the declaration while fielding questions from journalists in Yola weekend noting that her victory at the just concluded gubernatorial primary election will give the younger generation especially girls a renewed hope in their different endeavours.

Binani expressed delight with the new approach of women inclusion introduced by the party in all the electoral process stressing that the method of two women delegates per ward constituted 452 delegates out of 1130 delegates helped her course in winning tremendously .

She said her victory is for the Nigerian women, her co-contestants and party noting that with the support and cooperation of all, she would emerge victorious in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

She told the incumbent people’s Democratic Party led administration in the state under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to be packing his belongings out of Dougeri hills government house Yola saying his government and party’s stakes are over.

Binani stated that the strategies to be deployed by her party would make easy to victory in the 2023 election calling on her defeated contestants to rally round her as a team.

“I’m ready to face the incumbent, my party will come up with a strategy to win the confidence of the people and to mobilise for votes.

“By the time we set the ball rolling, PDP will know that they have no stake in 2023. I appreciate all other aspirants for comradeship they displayed and ensuring a rancour free exercise and displaying a high degree of responsibility,” she said.

It could be recalled that the governorship primary election conducted by APC in the country last Thursday saw Senator Binani clinching the Adamawa state governorship ticket with 430 votes to defeats five other aspirants in the race.

Former and pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, (EFCC) Mallam Nuhu Ribadu came second after polling 288 votes. Immediate past Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow took third position with
103 votes.

Other aspirants defeated by Binani are; Federal lawmaker representing Toungo/Ganye/Jada/Mayo-belwa constituency, Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas scored 94 votes while Wafari Theman and Umar Mustapha Otumba scored 21 and 39 votes respectively.
