Otumba of Ekiti loses another bid to lead Adamawa again

Alhaji Umar Mustapha Madawaki, AKA Otumba of Ekiti has lost another bid to lead Adamawa State as governor following his defeat by Ibrahim Baba-Inna at the just concluded gubernatorial primaries of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in Adamawa State.

Madawaki came to prominence in Adamawa politics on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a result of his avowed stance to demolish the two flyovers which governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri constructed.

But his dream of getting the APCs ticket was shortlived as he was defeated by Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani in the APC Gubernatorial primaries.

Not deterred, Otumba again moved to PRP where he unsuccessfully sought to fly its flag in 2023 gubernatorial election.

Ibrahim Baba-Inna won the primaries with a total of 63 votes while Otumba got 41 votes in the primary election.
