Gubernatorial Candidate of the Labour Party, in Adamawa State, Umar Madawaki, a.k.a Otumba of Ekiti, has accused Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, ahead of the 2023 general elections,of attempts to scuttle, the labour movement propelled by the presidential candidate of the party Peter Obi.
Otumba who addressed some select Journalists at his residence, said he was aware of plots by the Fintiri administration to sow division within the Labour party in the state.
He said Fintiri who is hell bent at scuttling his candidature through fifth columnist has planted moles within the party.
According to him, the governor became jittery of his gubernatorial ambition, under the current labour movement spearheaded by its presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi, which he noted would cause an upset in the nation’s political landscape.
He said, said “History is about to be made in Adamawa and the nation because the Labour party is a movement which is set to rout the ruling All Progressive Congress at the national level and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the state and take over the reins of power for the benefit of all.”
He said Peter Obi, is the only governor, in history, who did not plunge his state into debt, leaving behind over N100bn in the coffers, of the state for his successor.
He promised to destroy any infrastructure without any direct benefit to the citizens if elected governor, while lamenting the rate at which state governor’s engage in white elephant projects which does not have directing bearing on their citizens.
He said of elected as governor he will correct such anomaly in his state, thereby reiterating his earlier pledge to pull down the fly-overs built by the Fintiri administration which he described as a waste of tax-payers money.
