Former emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II alongside other notable Nigerians will be conferred award of excellence by OurNigeria News magazine.
A statement by the Editor in Chief of the magazine Amb. Auwal Ahmad Umar noted that Chief Dr. Chukumeka Ezeife will chair the occasion.
“The Board and Management of Our Nigeria News Magazine are set to confer honours on some prominent Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in their chosen careers and communities with awards of excellence. The OurNigeria News Awards is an annual event organized by OurNigeria News magazine, which was set up in 2019. The 2022 edition is the second in the series and it is scheduled to hold on the 7TH October 2022 at the Ladi Kwali Hall of Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja.
“Chief Dr Chukwuemake Ezeifa is expected to be the Chairman of the event. President Muhammadu Buhari the Special Guest of Honor while His Royal Highness Etsu Nupe Dr Yahaya Abubakar is the Royal Father of the day.
“This edition of the awards has the following nominees as awardees: His Royal Highness Sunusi Lamido Sunusi II (Man of the Year): Prof Babagana Umara Zulum emerge as Best Governor of the Year after he defeated five other governors in the electronic vote conducted by the Magazine online.
“Also His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni emerge Politician of the year during the vote, the Chief of Account and Budget of Nigerian Army Maj-General A.A. Fayemiwo bags TY Buratai Excellence Award in Military Leadership. The award was created in honour of the former Chief of Army Staff, now Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Lt.-Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai (rtd) to appreciate the gallant contributions of officers of the Nigerian Army who have done a lot to see that Nigeria remains united and safe.
“The Theatre Commander Operation Hadin Kai, Maj-General Christopher Musa is to be honoured with Collin Powell Meritoriuos Award for Soldiering. Alhaji Abubakar S Bello (Sarkin Shanu Yamaltu) (Lifetime Achievement Award in Philanthropy), Mele Kyari, Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation is to received Technocrat of the year Award, Dangote Group of Company is to received Excellence Award in most Outstanding Conglomerate and Emir of Katsina His Royal Highness Dr Abdullamumini Kabir Usman is to be honoured with Traditional Leadership Award of Excellence and His Excellency, Dr. Hamza Al-Mustapha Icon of National Unity and Patriotism Award while the Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari bags Gen Yakubu Gawon Excellence Award in Leadership
“Others are: Maryam Umar (Ability in Disability Award), The Executive Director Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority Dr Zainab Gobir to received Excellence Award in Financial Management, Dr Bokoji Isa (Chiroma Aska Gombe) a Board Trustee member of National Association of Nigeria Traditional Medicine Practitioners to receive General excellence Award in Traditional medicine and many more Awards to be conferred of other distinguish,” the statement said.
