Adamawa State Governor, Rt.Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has been honoured with the 2022 Distinguished Award for Infrastructure Delivery Governor of the Year, in view of what the organisers of the award, the Best Strategic Media in collaboration with the Office Of The Secretary To The Government Of The Federation described as the governor’s enviable massive infrastructural development of the state.
The award was conferred on the State Governor at the 2022 Nigeria Excellence Awards In Public Service, held at the Conference Centre, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
A statement by Humwashi Wonosikou, Fintiri’s press secretary said the governor was accompanied by his wife, Hajiya Lami Fintiri and other notable personalities including Deputy Governor Crowther Seth, Speaker of the State Assembly Aminu Iya Abbas, other top government officials, friends and associates.
Addressing the award recipients, President Muhammadu Buhari said it is a recognition of excellent service delivery to the people and commended the consultants and organisers of the award for deploying best indices in determining performance.
President Buhari who noted that political office is a public trust, advised those entrusted with leadership to ensure they are accountable to the people and must therefore act with patriotism and think outside the box.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who commended the organisers for their show of patriotism promised not to let the people down.
He said he is happy that his modest contribution to the growth and development of Adamawa State is being recognised based on the quantum leap infrastructural renewal and overall service delivery to the people of the State.
Governor Fintiri dedicated the award to the people of Adamawa for their utmost cooperation with government in keeping the peace and supporting programmes and policies of the present administration, which according to him, is a prerequisite for development.
Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri received the award alongside Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi.
