Binani didn’t stepped down as Adamawa PCC cordinator, she was asked to resign – Comrade Mustapha

The All Progressives Congress (APC) national vice chairman north east, Comrade Mustapha Salihu has repudiated a statement made by Sen. Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani to the effect that she stepped down as the cordinator of the party’s presidential campaign council of Adamawa State.

Binani has yesterday disclosed that she stepped down from the position due to the invectives being hurled at former governor Murtala Nyako adding that because of the respect she has for him she could not stomach a situation where he is being unnecessarily vilified.

But reacting, Mustapha said Binani was being economical with the truth on the matter as she has been asked to resign following court’s nullification of her gubernatorial candidature adding that Binani should have honourably resigned without being told to do so.

He said it was unnecessary for Binani to drag former governor Murtala Nyako into her travails as such will only compound her political woes.

The APC chieftain noted that following her failure to relinquish the position on account of the court verdict, Binani was issued a letter of resignation yesterday evening since she is no more the gubernatorial candidate of the party in the state.

According to him the campaign council deem it fit to remove her over the decision of the Federal High Court sitting in Yola where Justice Abdulaziz Anka annulled her candidacy and ordered she should stop parading herself as a candidate.

“It was on this premise that the campaign council relinquished her from being the state coordinator of the Presidential campaign council and appointed Martins Babale as an interim coordinator,” Salihu said.

Mustapha said it was unwieldy for Binani to think she can play fast one on the people through media hype and playing with people’s emotions to attract undue sympathy adding that she out to have quitely and honourably resign instead.

“I can authoritatively tell you the presidential campaign council suspended her because she seized to be the Gubernatorial candidate because of the high court ruling of last month.

”Dragging former Governor Murtala Nyako to her political mess is not helpful and we cannot take it. Is it now that she knows the respected elder statesman exists? By this she is more dividing our party and we can’t take it.” Salihu said.
