~ Neutralize one, recover locally made gun, leg chain, charms, others
Police in conjunction with local hunters have foiled attempted kidnapping of a resident of Gegeli village, in Gombi local government of Adamawa State, Babuga Adamu and succeeded in neutralizing one suspect while the others escaped with gun injury.
A statement by the police spokesman, SP Sulaiman Nguroje made available to newsmen on Thursday night indicated that operatives of the Gombi division in collaboration with hunters launched an audacious attack on the hideouts of the criminals sequel to intelligence report by some good Samaritans in the area.
“On the 10/11/2022, the Command operatives attached to Gombi Division in sustained collaboration with hunters foiled an organized kidnap attempt of One Babuga Adamu of Gegeli village, Gombi local government area.
“These success followed a reliable information received about the organized crime.
“The command upon receiving the information designed a security ring around the target Area and luckily engaged the kidnappers in a gun duel and luckily neutralized one while others escaped with bullet wounds.
“The Commissioner of police CP SK Akande while commending DPO Gombi SP Ahijo Muhammed, his men and hunters for their gallant performance and professional conduct displayed, directed them to sustain the tempo as a strategy for checkmating crimes and criminals in the state.
“The CP calls on the populace to always inform the police of the whereabouts of Criminals and their hideouts.
“The police Boss equally assured the Government and good people of Adamawa state, of sustained effort to dislodge all criminal hideous and black spots in Adamawa state,” the statement said.
