~ Directs DPOs to lead night patrols
Adamawa state commissioner of Police, Sikiru Akande has pledged to bring attackers of governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s media aide, Muhammad B. Tukur to justice.
Muhammad was attacked in his house in Yola by yet to be identified assailants.
In a strong worded statement signed by the command’s spokesman, SP Sulaiman Nguroje, the CP ordered operatives of the command, drawn from the Special Rapid Response Team (SRRT) and other Tactical squads to carryout a tactical and intelligence – driven 24/7 raid against hoodlums that want to disrupt the peace of the state.
The CP also directed them to checkmate all criminal activities, in line with the command’s determination to provide peaceful and conducive atmosphere in the State.
“These deployments will surely assist in coordinating timely response to distress calls and to clamp down on those found committing crimes for the law to take its course.
“The CP equally directed the Divisional police officers to personally lead the night patrols in their respective Areas of responsibility (AOR) to ensure total domination of the public space.
“The CP while re-emphasizing the firm determination of the Command in ensuring safety of lives and property seek full cooperation from members of the public to report any suspicious character around their neighborhood to the nearest police station or call on these emergency numbers.

Meanwhile, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri while on a visit to the hospital alongside CP Akande assured his support to security agencies to ensure the state is rid of criminals. He urged the Police to fish out the perpetrators of the attack, warning that Government will not fold its arms and allow criminals to have their way.
