The news of the approval of the appointment of the district head of Vokna/Pakka, Maiha local government area, by the Adamawa state governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, while still withholding the approval of the appointment of the district head of Jalingo-Maiha, even after the court mandatory injection compelling the governor to approve the district head appointment, is received with a surprise; even though substantial population of the electorates say it didn’t come as any surprise.
Some of the Pakka indigenes interviewed lamented that while they are happy with the appointment of their district head, they feel ashamed of the seeming executive exhibition of the unconscious bias.
“The apparent prejudice against the monarchy of and in Jalingo-Maiha is truly giving us concern, because as Muslims, we always wish for our brothers what we wish for ourselves.
“Truly, the approval of the appointment of the district head of Jalingo-Maiha is long overdue,” they would say.
The Jalingo-Maiha community has already ruled out the possibility that the Fintiri led government would approve the appointment of their district.
“The rumour making the rounds is that the Emirate Council selected and the court declared district head of Jalingo-Maiha is from the Fulani family and that no Fulani should any longer assume leadership responsibility in Jalingo-Maiha district.
“Whether or not the rumour is a reflection of what accounts for the withholding of the appointment of our district head, we can only conclude that there’s every executive injustice associated with the denial by means of delayig, withholding the approval of the appointment of the District Head of Jalingo-Maiha long after the court order.
“We pray that the next government after 2023, will honor the courts’ order and have the appointment of our district head approved,” the patient electorates in Jalingo-Maiha would lament.

Following the recommendation of Mubi Emirate Council and subsequently the approval of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (Sarki Yaki Mubi) vide letter No. MCA/GHY/5.122/T.4/125 of 29th November, 2022, I am directed by the Council to convey to you its approval for your appointment as District Head, Vokna/Pakka District. The Appointment takes effect immediately.
