La’ori tasks district heads to promote peace, unity in communities

The Member representing Demsa, Numan and Lamurde at the National Assembly, Hon. kwamoti B Laori, has charged all district heads in the constituency to embrace peace for development to be rooted in the area.

La’ori who gave the charge at the opening ceremony of a two-day training of community based institutions in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Violent conflict Prevention, organized by Jandel Global Resources Limited, in collaboration with Public Complaints Commission, noted that peace is indispensable and must be pursued with vigour.

Laori who hosted the event said the training will go a long will to help his people at all levels to know the value of peace urging them to pay utmost attention during the sessions for maximum effect.

The lawmaker said all the participants have a role to play in their domains urging them to step down the knowledge acquired to members of their communities.

A university don, professor Chinyere N. Alimba, commended the lawmaker for his determination to ensure the prevalence of peace in his constituency.

He also enjoined the participants to pay attention during the two-day activity for them to reap maximum benefit.

A resource person, Malam Musa Shalangwa, noted that for peace to reign in a community, the people must understand, learn and embrace each other’s differences.

He thanked the lawmaker for deeming it fit to organize such a crucial event which will go a long way in fostering peace, unity and prosperity in the land.
