Dr. Khalifa U. Mohammed mni, has over the years etched his name in gold as a dynamic and budding senior executive, leading strategist and a Director par excellence.
The conferment of the Distinguished Member of the National Institute (mni) was at the graduation ceremony of the National Institute’s Senior Executive Course (SEC) 44, 2022, the flagship programme of the National Institute.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony on Saturday December 03 2022, the Director General of the Institute, Professor Ayo Omotayo charged the mni recipients to always put Nigeria first as they return to their places of service, and not forget all the lessons learnt over the 10-month period of the course.
On his part, the Special Guest of Honour, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, ably represented by the Minister for Transport, Muazu Jaji Sambo, charged the new policy and strategy leaders to apply the capacity they have developed at NIPSS to serve the country. He also noted that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari considers NIPSS as a major ally in providing evidence-based research to support public policy, and it is working on implementing the findings from the recently presented research report on how to strengthen local governance in Nigeria.
Dr Khalifa U. Mohammed, mni’s phenomenal and meteoric rise to his current admirable positions in life, did not come to many by surprise as he had painstakingly and meticulously built a sturdy personality over the years through a dint of hard work, dedication, service and most importantly, God’s grace.
Dr Khalifa, mni has over the years built an impregnable reputation as a solid senior executive of repute, a budding administrator and a professional of inestimable pedigree. He has over the years become a salient and valuable agent towards National Development in Nigeria, especially after successfully attending the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), where he bagged the Distinguished Member of the National Institute (mni).
He successfully served as the EXCO Secretary-General on the Senior Executive Course (SEC 44 2022) with several records of achievements. As their Legacy Project, a Community Nursery and Primary School was built and donated by SEC44 2022 to the National Institute, to serve the immediate community towards a better society. Additionally, he served in other leadership roles while at the National Institute and actively participated in several extracurricular and sporting activities on the course.
Young and energetic Dr Khalifa, mni began his early education from the Nigerian Air force Primary School in Kano State. Thereafter, gained admission at Home Science Secondary School in Lagos State in 1993 and obtained his WAEC Certification from Comprehensive College Secondary School Kaduna State in 1999.
He then obtained his A-Levels (GCE) from Princethorpe College in Coventry, United Kingdom in 2001; HND Computing from Plymouth University, UK in 2001. He gained his first degree in BSc Information Technology in 2006, while a Masters Degree in International Management in 2008. Both Degrees were obtained from the University of the West of England, Bristol, United Kingdom.
Upon his return to Nigeria, he completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), NNPC Towers, Abuja in 2012. He later obtained a PhD in International Studies (History) from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in 2021.
Dr Khalifa, mni is currently the Director Central Services and Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Pro-Chancellor at Baze University, Abuja. Prior to this, he worked in a number of positions both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, which include but not limited to Head, Service Delivery and Project Management, ICT Unit in Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO); MD/CEO of Gano Group of companies amongst others. While in the UK, he was in a number of IT Professional roles as a consulting contractor.
He has attended several Senior Management and Leadership training courses over the years, including Management Essentials from Havard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA; Certificate in Good Governance from Lee Kuan Yew, School of Public Policy, Singapore; Management Strategies for People and Resources, YALI Network; Proficiency Certificate in Management (NIM) amongst others.
In addition, he is a recipient of a number of Awards and Commendations in the course of his career. He was conferred with the Fellowship Award for Distinguished and Sterling Professional contribution to Educational Administration from the Institute of Corporate Administration (ICAD) in 2022, amongst others.
He is a member of several professional bodies in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, which include: Fellow, institute of Corporate Administration (ICAD), Abuja; Member, Institute of Directors (IoD); Member, Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Maitama chapter, Abuja; amongst others.
Dr Khalifa, mni continues to remain active in promoting national development in Nigeria through the course of his career. His strong passion to professionally develop himself enabled him to also engage, inspire and develop others along the way. He firmly believes that everyone must start somewhere, but with some level of determination, considerable commitment and strong belief in God, the sky is really just the beginning.
