Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Akande has assured the people of Adamawa State of adequate security as the nation celebrates Christmas and New Year festivities.
The CP noted that he has put in place adequate security measures to protect the citizens, ensure the success of all the activities lined-up for the festive period and to prevent any act capable of leading to break down of law and order before, during and after the yuletide celebrations.
A statement by the command’s image maker, SP Sulaiman Nguroje said to that effect, Akande has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations to coordinate and ensure that all the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Operational Commanders should lead the Christmas Celebration security operation.
They are to also ensure high level visibility policing and confidence building patrols around the church areas & venue of the celebrations, Residential areas & other places of public resorts so as to prevent any infiltration by hostile elements.
“The Command, congratulated His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State and the entire people of the State on the occasion of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
“The CP called on citizens to go about the celebrations in the most peaceful and law abiding manner and report any suspicious person(s) around their neighborhoods to the nearest Police or through these Emergency Numbers,” the statement said.
