NCPC airlifts 300 Gombe, Taraba pilgrims to holy land

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) has on Monday concluded arrangement to lift no fewer than 300 christian pilgrims from Gombe and Taraba states to Jordan from where they will proceed to Isreal for the spiritual exercise.

The executive secretary of the commission, Rev Yakubu Pam who charged the pilgrims to be good ambassadors of Nigeria while in the holy land told them to count themselves lucky to be part of the spiritual exercise.

He also urged them not to abscond as such is a grave offence noting that measures have been put in place to ensure that whoever absconded is arrested and prosecuted.

Pam also thanked president Muhammadu Buhari for the unprecedented support he has been rendering to the Commission culminating into the successes so far achieved.

He also thanked the secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), and the governors of Gombe and Taraba states who despite the economic downturn found it expedient to sponsor such spiritual exercise adding that the country will benefit from the prayers of the pilgrims while in the holy land.

The executive secretary noted that the pilgrimage which is a spiritual exercise is usually associated with challenges urging the pilgrims to carry the challenges in their stride adding that the rewards from the exercise greatly surpass any challenge that will be encountered.
