Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has on Friday signed the 2023 Budget of N175 billion into law following the passage of the appropriation bill by the State House of Assembly.
The event which held in the Government House, Yola had in attendance, Deputy Governor Chief Crowther Seth and Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Pwamakeino Mackondo.
Others are Chairman and members of House Standing Committee on Finance, Appropriation and Budget, and Chief of Staff Government House Yola, Prof Maxwell Gidado.
Also at the event are Commissioner of Finance and Budget, Dr Ishaya Dabari and State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Afraimu Jingi amongst others.
Governor Umaru Fintiri had on Friday, 25 November 2022 presented the appropriation bill for 2023 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly for consideration.
The Budget has N105b representing 60% as recurrent expenditure and over N70b representing 40% as capital expenditure.
According to Fintiri, the budget tagged ‘Budget of Consolidation’ will ensure all ongoing projects started by this administration are completed while government will construct a Super Highway from FGGC Yola to Yola-Town through Yolde-Pate.
The Governor said also, there will be establishment and construction of three Mega Secondary Schools, one in each of the senatorial districts which will serve as Special schools for the most talented of Adamawa students.
He added that the government will also establish High-tech Vocational Training Centers to serve as Information Technology Skill Incubation Hub for the development of the teeming Youths in the state among other key projects.
