2023: Commissioner of Police vows to ensure hitch free polls in Adamawa

Adamawa state police command in line with the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba has pledged to leave a legacy of a deepened democratic system and credible electoral process in the state.

A statement by the image maker of the command SP Sulaiman Nguroje noted that to that effect the command has engaged in tactical meetings and conferences with various stakeholders to build solid Standard Operating Procedure and strategic action plan geared towards having a seamless electoral process for the 2023 General Elections.

“In furtherance of the command’s critical plans in actualizing free, fair, and credible elections in the state, the command designed a security template to operate within the context of the new Electoral laws, by so doing, the Co- Chairman Inter Agency Collaborative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) CP SK AKANDE Engaged all heads of operations of sister security agencies in the state, to further deepen inter-agency collaborative initiatives towards guaranteeing secure electioneering processes for the 2023 General Elections.

“At the meetings, the CP emphasized the need to enhance actionable intelligence gathering and sharing, coordinated operations, adequate deployment of personnel and resources .

“In the same vein, the CP has advice Police officers and other security actors to be neutral and warned Politicians not to drag security agent’s into politiking as he assured of level playing ground for all,” Nguroje said.
