Dr Gado Shehu takes over as IBDFM President/Chairman of council

 

The Board of Directors of the Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management, IBDFM, has appointed Dr. Gado Shehu, mni, as President and Chairman of Council of the Institute.

Shehu’s appointment followed the demise of the pioneer President and Chairman of Council of the Institute, Prof. Ayuba A. Aminu of University of Maiduguri, Borno State, which sad incident occured in September, 2022.

The press release Friday, issued by the Registrar and Secretary to Council of the Institute, Mr Sukana Danjuma Tusha revealed that the appointment “is for a three-year term, from January, 2023 to January, 2026

Dr. Gado Shehu, mni, is a Proud Member of the Prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos, Plateau State.

He is a Pioneer Fellow of the Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management (IBDFM) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) among other Fellowships too numerous to mention.

He is a Legal luminary who obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Hons from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University (A.B.U) Zaria (1986), a Barrister at Laws (BL) from the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island Lagos (1987), a Master in International Law and Diplomacy (MILD) from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1995) and a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Jos in 1998.

Dr. Gado Shehu mni holds an Advanced Diploma in Security Operations and Management (2007) and a Certificate in Intelligence and Investigation (2008) both from the University of Lagos.

Shehu earned a Doctor of Arts, Honoris Causa from the European-American University and is writing his thesis on the topic “The Efficacy of Money Laundering Act in the Fight Against Corruption in Nigeria” for a Doctor of Law (LLD).

Shehu joined the services of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 1991 as Assistant Registrar and rose to the enviable rank of Director, Business Names (2017-2020). He was Director, Budget, Planning, Research and Statistics (January, 2020-September, 2021) and Director, Business Names again from September, 2021 to February 3rd, 2022 when he clocked the retirement age of 60 years.

Shehu attended many courses and training in Nigeria and overseas and has also travelled widely on Commission’s Special Assignments to South Africa, India, London, Japan, Istanbul (Turkey), among other places.

She served as Chairman, Anti-Corruption and Transparency Monitoring Unit (ACTU-ICPC), Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) Chapter, among other positions of responsibilities too numerous to mention.

Shehu is currently the Secretary General, Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) and Principal Counsel, Frontline Chambers, Abuja.

Shehu man of impeccable character and integrity, is married with children.
