Senator Abubakar Girei has expressed overwhelming joy over the election of Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria’s president-elect expressing confidence in the ability of the new president to turn the fortunes of the country around.
Girei, a stalwart of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) also thanked Nigerians for the confidence they reposed in Tinubu and his party APC saying that the incoming administration will usher in far reaching reforms and changes that will make Nigerian a haven of prosperity.
In a statement he forwarded to this paper, Wednesday, the politician noted that the election of Tinubu-Shettima ticket marked an epoch in the trajectory of Nigeria’s political development adding that the election will usher a new realm and seismic political and administrative changes which will put Nigeria on the map of prosperous countries in the world.
“Tinubu has the capacity, zeal, and penchant for success. He will deploy his vast experience across many spheres of human endeavour to bear in the discharge of his duties.
“He is cosmopolitan, shrewd, vast and exceptionally intelligent. He understands our challenges as a nation and will hit the ground running in addressing them.
“I want to use this auspicious opportunity to thank Nigerians in general and members of our great party who stood solidly behind our candidate and ensured his victory.
“We also have another responsibility of ensuring that we elect APC candidates in the guvernorship and state assembly election to ensure consolidation of the party across board for more dividends of democracy to accrue to us,” he said.
