Few days after reelection, Sen Yaroe fulfils critical campaign promise

Few days after he emerged victorious at the recently concluded presidential and national assembly election, the senator representing Adamawa south senatorial zone, Sen Binos Dauda Yaroe has fulfilled a critical campaign promise by doling out cash rewards to local governments which gave him an edge during the polls.

Sen Yaroe who contested for Adamawa south senatorial zone for the second time emerged victorious with a wide margin in the Saturday presidential and national assembly elections.

The senator noted that he was prodded to dole out the cash reward during his last campaign tour in Guyuk when a constituent urged him to organize a competition to reward local governments which gave him the largest votes.

He said he bought into the idea and organized a competition in three categories namely; reward for the local government that accorded him the highest votes, reward for local government that accorded him the highest margin of victory and a reward to the local government that accorded him highest percentage of margin of victory.

Yaroe noted that the sum of N2 millon was earmarked for any local government which emerged first in any of the three categories, N1m naira to any local government that emerged second in each of the categories and N500,000 to any local government that emerged third in each of the categories.

He noted that after the election outcome was compiled, Demsa local government emerged the overall winner and won first in two categories and second position in another category adding that the sum of N5 million was earmarked to the local government.

He said Jada took second position by emerging first in one category and second in another category and got a cash prize of N3 million while Guyuk emerged in third position by coming second in one category and third in another adding that a total of N1.5 million was earmarked for the local government.

Yaroe noted that Lamurde and Mayo Belwa local governments tally in the fourth position by winning third in two different categories and were awarded N500,000 each.

He said so far, a total of nine prizes were won by local governments that emerged victorious in the contest.

The senator thanked the people for the confidence and faith they reposed in him for reelecting him to represent them again, adding that he will work extra hard to double what he has done for them in the past.

Also speaking, governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri congratulated the senator and hailed the constituents for the trust they had in his party.

He said such trust and confidence were responsible for the overwhelming victory the party recorded in the presidential and national assembly elections in the state.

The governor urged them to maintain the tempo during the forthcoming guvernorship and state assembly election by electing PDP from top to bottom.

He particularly thanked the people of Demsa for the trust and confidence they had in PDP adding that the area has been magnanimous to PDP in all elections.
