Adamawa CP felicitates with christians @ Easter

~ Renews commitment of enhanced security

Adamawa State Commissioner of Police Afolabi Babatola, has renewed his commitment to ensure security for all before, during and after the Easter festivity.

Babatola who rejoiced with the christian community in the state assures all residents of Adamawa state, particularly those who will be travelling or joining friends and relatives in public places for the Easter celebrations, of their safety and security during and after the Festive period.

A statement by the command’s public relations officer, SP Sulaiman Nguroje assures that proactive measures have been emplaced to ensure all travellers arrive their destinations devoid of the activities of rogue individuals and criminal elements.

“To achieve this, the Command Partners with Sister security agencies and has ordered Intelligence units, Operational Commanders, Divisional police officers and their Supervisory Area commanders to ensure heavy deployments of officers in uniforms on Highways, Airports Places of Worship and Event centres, within their Area of Responsibility.

“The CP further directed Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations to adopt visibility policing by ensuring that those on routine duties are in uniform and their vehicles marked with the names of their Divisions or Unit for proper identification by members of the public. All officers are to ensure strict compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP) for their specific types of assignment while Respect for fundamental rights of all persons is sacrosanct.

“The Police Boss therefore felicitates with the Christian faithfuls as they celebrate Easter while urging them to emulate the character of Christ. He equally wishes Government and People of Adamawa a prosperous celebrations,” the statement said.
