The Adamawa state Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP. Dr. Umar Ardo has applauded the outstanding performance of the party’s Organizing Secretary, Hon. Abdul Aziz Jibrilla during the elections in the state.

He said Jibrilla’s contributions to the development of the party is second to none in the political history of the party in the state against all odds.
” AbdulAzeez, l write to formally thank you for the moral, strategic and physical support and commitment you gave me during my bid to contest the governorship election of my dear state of Adamawa.
“As the party state organizing secretary, and without any incentive whatsoever, you dedicated yourself to my contest in everything you were supposed to undertake to ensure my victory. And in spite of all the shortcomings on my part and on the part of the campaign, you have never been heard making unreasonable demands or complaints. I’m sure you’ve seen how your support was put to good use and was of great help in the campaign.
“With your support, I was able to put in the party structures across the state, constitute state and national Electoral Colleges, conduct party nomination exercises, conduct local and statewide mobilization rallies, go to campaign in each and every LGA of the state, see and evaluate firsthand the issues confronting our communities, meet and canvas with critical stakeholders at all levels and all facets of society, got to be known and understood by our people, alongside with them formulate common solutions to our problems and extract from them serious commitments of support for our candidacy.
“It was indeed an eye-opening and enriching venture for me personally and for the teaming members of my campaign.
“Unfortunately, we have not been successful in the outcome of the election for several reasons, including non commitment and sale-out of local party leadership, candidates and agents, as well as heavy irregularities perpetrated by especially the incumbent governments at the state and federal levels in the exercise which made it impossible for the electorate to freely cast their votes in accordance with their conscience.
“Nevertheless, I need to let you know that I appreciate you so much for the support rendered to me. May God reward you abundantly. Once again, thank you for everything,” Dr. Ardo stressed.
It could be recalled that the SDP governorship candidate emerged third in the 2023 contest as APC candidate, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani holds the second position with Incumbent Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is leading with 31,249 margin votes waiting for the supplementary elections slated for 15th April by the INEC.
