You’re impostors, Adamawa IPAC tells CNPP leadership, calls for their arrest

The leadership of Inter Party Advisor Council (IPAC) in Adamawa State has called on security operatives to immediately arrest the the leadership of Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) over impersonation, mischief and inflammatory speech capable of causing unrest in the state.

The chairman of IPAC in Adamawa, Bello Babajo who made the call during a press conference in Yola on Sunday noted that their call became imperative in view of the tendency of CNPP to cause implosion in the state for self serving reasons.

He noted that it is a misnomer for any group to claim representation of political parties other than IPAC adding that the claim being made by the so called chairman of CNPP, Jafaru Baba Girei saying that he is representing 32 political parties represent the highest political brinkmanship and blatant disregard for the Nigerian constitution which currently recognized only 18 political parties.

According to him the council therefore reiterated it’s earlier position calling for the removal of the Resident Electoral Commissioner of Adamawa State over gross partisanship.

“On Thursday 6th April 2023, the Inter Party Advisory Council IPAC addressed a press conference calling on the INEC Chairman Prof Mahmoud Yakubu for immediate removal of the Resident Electoral Commissioner REC Barr Hudu Haruna and replace him with a competent hand that will be fair and just during the Supplementary election slated for 15th April, 2023.

“To our greatest shock and surprise, on the 7th April 2023 one comrade Jafaru Baba Girei made a misleading statement that will bring chaos in Adamawa State which might lead to destruction of lives and property. Such statement should not came from the Secretary of PCRC, and there we call on Comrade Jafaru Baba Girei to discontinue with such misleading statement as a matter of urgency.

“Jafaru even claimed that they are the Chairmen of different political Parties in Adamawa state, I am calling on the attention of the general public to disregard such groups, as they are not recognized in Adamawa and of course in Nigeria. Again, the public should know that we have 18 political parties and not 32 as claimed by comrade Jafaru Baba Girei.

“The Inter Party Advisory Council is calling on the security agencies to as a matter of urgency take drastic steps to stop Comrade Jafaru Baba Girei and his team from misleading the public will lead to the break down of law and order as the the peace and harmony in Adamawa state is not negotiable.

“We however stand on our earlier call for the replacement of the Resident Electoral Commissioner REC Barr Hudu Inusa before the Supplementary election, as the great people of Adamawa state have no longer have confidence on him,” he said.

Also speaking, a former member of the CNPP, Aboki Wunuji who claimed that they were misled into joining the Girei group noted that CNPP is in Adamawa is a fictitious creation by some smart Alecs to butter their bread as they are being sponsored by a gubernatorial candidate to cause confusion and anarchy in the state.

He said the group is being bankrolled heavily by their mischievous sponsors to derail the political process noting that after realizing the I’ll motives of the CNPP they recanted and join forces with IPAC for a smooth and peaceful transition process ahead of the guvernorship supplimentary election in the state.
