A lawsuit has been filed against the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, accusing him of abusing his office.
The Federal High Court in Abuja has given the go-ahead for the case, which is also seeking a court order to compel the AGF to pay N1 billion as damages to a businessman and property developer, Cecil Osakwe.
Osakwe claims that Malami coerced him into giving two units of three-bedroom flats in one of his properties in Abuja to a civil servant, Mrs. Asabe Waziri, against a court order.
The plaintiff also accused the AGF of using his position to supervise his continuous harassment by security operatives.
The plaintiff is asking the court to declare that Malami engaged in abuse of public office and to order him to pay N1 billion as damages.
