An advanced convoy of governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has crushed three natives of Ezza South Local Government Area who were on a motorcycle to death in a fatal road mishap.
It has been reported that the victims were hit by an advance team while they were on the route leading to Muhammadu Buhari’s international airport.
It was reported that the convoy was on its way back from airport after dropping the governor who was on his way to Abuja. “While returning to town, the tragic incident occurred,” a source told our reporter.
According to reports, the incident happened soon after the opening of a flyover named after Prince Arthur Eze at Abaomege in Onicha local government.
Prince Arthur Eze, together with Governor Umahi, commissioned the flyover.
It was then learnt that shortly after the commissioning ceremony, the governor left for Abuja.
However, Prince Arthur Eze and the state’s deputy governor, Eric Kelechi Igwe, left the accident scene and consoled the victims’ families before ordering that they be taken to the hospital and then sped off to Enugu State.
