~ Matriculates 1,600 fresh students
The college of legal studies Yola, has given a student, Aisha Yunusa Gisilanbe, outstanding performance award for attaining a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.80 during its 2022/2023 matriculation in which the college Matriculates no fewer than1,600 fresh students on Saturday.
The college also awarded an ex staff, of the institution Alh. Barkindo Ahmed and a serving staff, Hajiya Habiba Abdullahi for quality services and dedication to duty.
Stating the rationale behind the award, acting H.O.D of Shari’a and civil law department, Barr. Aminu Murtala Aminu said, the department deemed it fit to award the student and the the two others to encourage other students and staff to strive for excellence in their various fields of endeavor.
He called on other students and staff to dedicate their energies to their studies and duties because there is reward for excellent service as witnessed today.
In his address to the students, the provost of the college, Barr. Bello Hammandiram urged the new students to work hard, abide by the laws of the school and shun all vices ranging from examination malpractices, drug abuse, cultism, lesbianism and all other anti social vices.
Stressing that the college has zero tolerance against such vices, the provost urged the new students to read the students’ hand book very well so as not to be on the wrong side of the law.
He thanked governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his commitment to the development of education in general and the overall progress of the college in particular.
Hammandiram acknowledged the giant and life changing projects which the governor has instituted in the college which have greatly enhanced academic and learning environment in the school.
The provost said considering the inclement economic situation in the country, the school has introduced a friendly school payment system where students can pay school fees in two instalments.
Also re-echoing the provost, the chairman governing council of the college, Barr. Hassan Maidawa also thanked governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the life touching projects he brought to the school.
He particularly thanked the governor for renovating Marafa hall, academic office and school clinic. He noted that plans are on top gear to give the school library a befitting facelift to enhance learning.
He urged the fresh students to abide by the school protocols and regulations and study hard to become shining examples of the school.
Maidawa noted that the school is proud of the accomplishments of its alumni who have excelled in various fields of human endeavor noting that with dedication, commitment and hardwork, the new students will also make an exciting career in the law profession.
