2023 farming: Jigawa implements 30% fertilizer subsidy, bag of NPK fertilizers sells at N16,000
The Jigawa State Government has taken a significant step to support farmers by purchasing 120,000 bags of NPK fertilizer.
These fertilizers will be made available through 43 retail stores across the state, with each bag priced at N16,0000.

He entrusted the committee members with the responsibility of supervising and monitoring the sale of these subsidized fertilizers throughout the state for the upcoming 2023 wet season farming.
The governor urged the committee members to exhibit utmost commitment and dedication to ensure that the fertilizers reach the intended farmers at a reduced price.
He warned against any fraudulent activities, stating that strict actions will be taken against those found colluding to divert the fertilizers.
Governor Namadi reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing essential agricultural inputs to the farmers in Jigawa State. This initiative has received positive feedback from local farmers, such as Suleiman Muhammad Desina, who expressed their happiness with the reduced price. Desina stated that farmers often struggle with the high costs of fertilizers and farming materials during the rainy season.
By implementing this 30% fertilizer subsidy, the Jigawa State Government aims to support and empower farmers, making agricultural inputs more accessible and affordable for improved productivity.
