Just In: Appeal court affirms Fintiri’s electoral victory
The Court of Appeal Abuja Division on Monday, dismissed an appeal filed by the guvernorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aishatu Binani against Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State.
The appeal was filed by APC Governorship Candidate, Sen. Aishatu Dahiru Binani and APC against Governor Fintiri, INEC and PDP.

In a unanimous decision by 3-member panel of justices led by T. O. Awotoye PJ, the court dismissed the appeal and upheld the election of Governor Fintiri.
The appellate court held that the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal was right in thrashingthe petition instituted by the defeated APC Guber Candidate.
In her appeal marked: CA/ YL/ EP/ AD/ GOV/ 18/2023, Binani had asked the appeal court to invalidate the judgement of the election tribunal which dismissed her petition in its entirety.
The trial court has earlier dismissed all the grounds on which Binani challenged the electoral victory of governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri necessitating Binani to go for appeal to contest his victory.
