TGNews sub-chair media awards cttee praises Fintiri over solid infrastructural strides
The chairman media sub-committee of The General news (TGNews) productivity and merit awards, Mr. Mohammed Ismail has on Tuesday showered approbation and encomiums on governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the unprecedented developmental strides he brought to the state.
During a press conference heralding the event scheduled for January 6th, 2024, Ismail noted that the award has no attachment to any primordial sentiment but was given based on track record of performance of the governor.
“Fintiri was picked out of the four governors nominated for the award because of the unprecedented developmental strides he brought to Adamawa within a short period of time. Fintiri has really paid his dues and raised the bar of governance in Adamawa by dint of hard work, frugal use of resources and has succeeded in putting Adamawa on the map.
“Based on this track record, Fintiri was unanimously chosen for the award by all the award committee members without recourse to any primordial interest,” he said.
He noted that TGNews also placed high premium to the award given to the two unsung heroes recipients for their diligence and resilience in the face of daunting challenges placed on their paths.
“Those to be conferred with TGNews unsung heroes award include; Ardo Usman, a Shoe Cobbler and a groundnut seller, Celina Peter.
“TGNews has placed so much value and relevance to the award given to the unsung heroes as a mark of their resilience and can do spirit despite the inclement and indurate socio-economic turf of the Nigerian society.
“These are people who should have resigned to fate and resort to begging or other demeaning ventures to survive, considering their disadvantaged conditions but instead took the gauntlet and channel their energies to better themselves and the society in general.
“In a society where abled bodied men resort to begging and crimes to survive, the resilience of our two unsung heroes must be highlighted and appreciated,” he noted.
He thanked members of the fourth realm of the estate in Adamawa State especially the correspondents’ chapel for their espirit de corp and support to the award committee urging them to maintain the tempo.
“It is indeed a great privilege for me to sit here in this hallowed vicinity, the correspondents’ chapel, my first and most important constituency to make this address.
“The choice of correspondents’ chapel is deliberate, first it is a conclave of reputable journalists in the state and the boiling pot of news dissemination in Adamawa State. Most importantly, the publisher and editor-in-chief of this medium is a member of this hallowed chapel.
“It is on this premise that I wish to state that the TGNews is a child of this chapel and today this child has come to receive the blessings of the parents,” he said.
