A statement by the media consultant to the airline in Nigeria, said that apart from its celebration in Nigeria, the airline is also celebrating the 90th year globally at its various destinations on its network.

Prof. John Lamola, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), SAA, said that it was no secret that as part of South Africa’s history, the airline had a fair share of its own challenges and its remarkable triumphs to be proud of.

“Today, and throughout the month of February, we will celebrate and reflect on this heritage as we commit to take the story of SAA as the leading world-class African airline forward,” he said.

Also, Mrs. Kemi Leke-Bamtefa, Country Manager of the airline in Lagos, said that the airline recognised the brilliant contributions of the travel agents whose outstanding efforts had helped it no small way to be as successful as it is today.

“They are at the centre of our celebrations and we thank them for being the wind underneath our wings,” she added.

Sharing her experience with SAA, Mrs. Abosede Yusuf of Quantum Travels said the company had been in business for the past 10 years and I had been doing travels all along, while SAA had been supportive of the company.

“Each time we have issues, they come around and they help us out, which makes it easier for us to make their sales. I pray they continue to grow in the business and urge them not to forget to do us better as agents in terms of commission and other benefits,” she added.

Besides, Ms. Surline Isiagu, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Luchia Travels, said that the company had been in existence about five years ago and had since been partnering with the airline.

She explained that SAA is one of the supportive airlines that had partnered with it.
