Please ignore any monetary request from my WhatsApp number – Mohd Ismail
The editor-in-chief of fact-check news Mr. Mohammed Ismail has called on the general public not to grant any monetary request to an unscrupulous element who hacked his WhatsApp account and using it to extort money from unsuspecting members of the general public.
The publisher noted that his account was hacked yesterday evening and since then the faceless, unscrupulous element behind the sordid act has been bombarding friends, colleagues and associates with monetary request.

“I have never in my life requested for any monetary assistance from anyone. Ignore any request for money from anyone camouflaging under my name. I find such criminal endeavor very nauseating, denigrating and embarrassing,” Ismail said.
He thanked the people for their vigilance for refusing to hanker to the demands of the criminal behind such a lowly enterprise.
“Yesterday night I received a deluge of phone calls and text messages informing me about the activities of the shadowy criminal. So far no one reported losing a kobo to the hacker. I thank all of you for remaining vigilant and calling the bluff of the criminal. I have since recovered my number.
“I’m working with security operatives to track down the criminal to face the consequences of his crimes,” Ismail said.
