Fintiri poaches international award for upholding gender equitable governance
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has again poached another international award of excellence for inclusive governance and gender sensitivity awarded to him by Africa Women Global Community under the aegis of Women in Africa for Transformation Initiative.
In a memo confirming the award on the governor sighted by our correspondent, founder, world women organization who doubles as the founder, women in Africa and CEO Africa Woman of the Year international, Chief Mrs. Rachel Akem-Harumi said her organization deemed it fit to honour the governor for the remarkable progress women have made in Adamawa State under his leadership, with unprecedented opportunities and representation.

“We are honored to inform you that the Africa Women Global Community, representing women from 22 African countries under the auspices of Women in Africa for Transformation Initiative, has unanimously nominated and selected you, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, Governor of Adamawa State, as the Africa Man of the Year.
“We are impressed by the remarkable progress women have made in Adamawa State under your leadership, with unprecedented opportunities and representation. The achievements are truly remarkable: a female deputy governor, a female chief judge, and all 21 local government chairpersons are women. “In recognition of your outstanding contributions, the international award committee of the prestigious Africa Woman of the Year Awards has decided to honor you with the Africa Man of the Year Award. Please find attached the nomination letter for your kind attention,” the memo reads.
