Ahmed Lawal calls for peaceful coexistence @ Int’l peace day

The Senior Special Adviser to governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Peace and security, Ahmed Lawal has reiterated the place of peace towards an egalitarian society urging all and sundry to embrace it as the world celebrates international peace day.

The international day of peace celebrated every 21st September was declared by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to promote and advocate for peaceful coexistence amongst diverse people around the world.

“The 2024 International Day of Peace is themed: “CULTIVATING THE CULTURE OF PEACE” which simply means developing peace as a habit or a way of life, it is therefore, fundamental to live and co-exist peacefully to sustain humanity.

“The Adamawa state government under the able leadership of our amiable and working Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has been strategizing in maintaining peace and harmony among the law abiding citizens in the state. A feat that placed the state above its equals in the North East zone.

“Under the mandate of my office as a public enlightenment to strengthened the importance of peace-building in the State because the peace Day provides a globally shared date for humanity to commit to peace above all difference, l enjoy every one of us to contribute to the building of culture of peace in our own little ways.

“As a primary stakeholder in ensuring and promoting continuous peace in the state and Nigeria, l urge all and sundry to support and cooperate with the government and security agencies in the state to have a conducive atmosphere of securing lives and properties of the civil populace.

“Let’s consolidate the roles of peace ambassador in our communities from education to the arts, social justice to sports, health to the environment, neighborhood issues to service for others, there are many ways to participate in peace building.

“Always remember peace is the bedrock of all developments.So invest heavily in peace enterprise, my compatriots,” he said.
