Productivity: Pate tasks heads of fed health institutions on performance management systems
The Coordinating minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate has tasked the Chief Medical Directors (CMDs), Medical Directors (MDs) and heads of health related agencies to ensure timely and accurate implementation of the Ministerial Performance Management Systems (MPMS) in health facilities for optimum productivity.
This is contained in a communique issued at the end of three-day retreat organised by the ministry for heads of tertiary health institutions in Bauchi on Wednesday.

Prof. Pate said that the retreat would ensure full implementation of the template on the performance management system with a view to address the complexities in the health sector.
The communique indicated that the implementation of the Ministerial Performance Management System (MPMS) would among other things facilitate engagement between the ministry and the heads of health facilities.
According to the communique, the management system will also focus on the delivery of quality health system and attainment of the health sector renewal goals.
It would also fastrack the development of framework that is contextual to the health environment and identifying the right visionary leader with the skills needed to develop the right goals towards achieving the objectives.
The retreat was attended by the Minister of State’ Health, Dr Tunji Alausa, Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Daju Kachollom S, directors and heads of federal tertiary health institutions in the country.
Highlights of the event featured the formal signing of the contract by individual health facilities and agencies for the implementation of the Ministerial Management Performance template.
