• Urges Gov to visit ex-VP to prove him wrong; accuses Madagali of spreading foolish lies

•Says Atiku consistently assists Fintiri on his way to political fame

In a session replete with piercing candour and dispassionate rendition of history, Adamawa State frontline political activist and foremost analyst, Umar Bello Jada, better known as Calculate, has refuted in strong language the submission of the organizing secretary of PDP, Alhaji Hamza Madagali, which inferred that relationship between the former vice president Atiku Abubakar and governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is still chubby. He accused Madagali of twisting narratives and spewing unvarnished and unintelligent lies to defend the unrequited love Atiku extended to Fintiri in his hour of need.

He noted that based on the valiant stance of the former VP to ensure Fintiri was not robbed in the last election, the unapologetic and calculated ruthlessness of Fintiri towards Atiku was not only misplaced but a show of stark ingratitude.

When praise becomes propaganda: A refutal of “The Fintiri Aura”

THE FINTIRI AURA

He noted that relationship between the two politicians has hit the rocks a long time ago making Fintiri to use his vantage office to take rash and impulsive actions in order to hurt, belittle and decimate the political interests of the former vice president.

Calculate who challenged the governor to pay a courtesy visit to the former VP in the next 48 hours to prove him wrong noted that contrary to the vacuous, venal, wicked and pathological lies and distortions Madagali spread to whitewash governor Fintiri’s uncharitable disposition towards Atiku, it remains visible even to the undiscerning that the widening chasm and no love lost between Fintiri and Atiku can not be wished away by cheerleaders and praise singers.

Excerpts:

The organizing secretary of the PDP in Adamawa State, Alh Hamza Madagali has recently debunked any rift between governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and former vice president Atiku Abubakar, a position that is obverse to your submission on the matter, the question here is who is right?

It is disturbing for a man of Madagali’s age to, for the sake of political correctness be reliving orgies of lies, distortions, half truths and outright falsehoods in an effort to conceal what is already in the public realm. Only people who lack honour, self respect and esteem will face Adamawa people and dished out such gibberish and outlandish lies to them.

I was enveloped by a sense of indignant anger after listening to Madagali’s interview that lacks a scintilla of merit, truth and wisdom. It is the height of political brinkmanship and recklessness taken too far. I found it morally nauseating even for a youngstar to unleash a mosaic of sinister odes laced with lies from the pristine precinct of his redoubt and sell them to the general public as the unvarnished truth. It is really unfortunate.

The fact on ground is that Fintiri is unapologetic in his ruthlessness towards Atiku whose only offence was the unconditional love he extended to the governor before and during the last governorship election. If not for the doggedness of Atiku, that election will have been lost to the ruling party. But I want to use this opportunity to challenge the governor to prove me wrong by staging a courtesy visit to Atiku’s home in Abuja in the next 48 hours since I learnt the governor is also in Abuja.

During the interview, Madagali while insisting that Fintiri and Atiku operate at the same frequency said some pugnacious elements within his (Atiku’s) camp who care less about his image are the people positing a crisis situation noting that as legitimate sons they were trained to respect elders, Atiku inclusive. What is your take?

On this I will charge Madagali to conduct a DNA test on his first son to probe his legitimacy because Awwal’s tendency to hurl invectives, cast aspersions and abuse the former vice president with reckless abandon has become a new currency. Hardly a day passes without Awwal puffing 50 abusive remarks on his social media handles against the former vice president and his interests. Awwal is always the first person to directly abuse me whenever I post any narrative deemed to be supportive of the former vice president. If the DNA test probe to be clean, it means the claim of Hamza towards giving his children sound training rings hollow.

Again I want to reiterate that one fact that establish in unambiguous language the integrity and precepts of a man is his ability to speak truth regardless of its portents. For instance, in the last election I supported Tinubu against Atiku and I will never deny that even if I’m facing the executioner or the hangman. But from his verbiage, absence of cohesion, lack of intuition and glaring mis-realignment of facts and history, Madagali seems to have lose it all. That is why when he was making a roll call of what he termed as first line stakeholders, from the governor down to the counsellor, he conspicuously ignored the name of the former vice president. That can not happen by accident or the sleigh of hand, it was a deliberate action contrived over a long period of time.

It is also trite and trifling that the organizing secretary of the PDP in Adamawa State will lay claim of not being aware of Atiku’s move to float a mega coalition which has now become a national issue. All over Nigeria, Atiku has been acclaimed as the major force and brain behind that move. So pretending not to know anything about the mega coalition being galvanized by Atiku only exposes the deeper hypocrisy in Madagali who has by that commission only betrayed his lack of principle. It is also disturbing to understand that Madagali was trying to insinuate that Atiku’s PDP membership diluted his resolve for mega coalition. Even a kindergarten knows that Atiku and most of his lieutenants in the pursuit of mega coalition have existing political platforms but are still pursuing the coalition knowing that it is the only potent vehicle upon which power can be wrestled from the incumbent president.

As an elder Madagali’s move to downplay the rift may be seen as a deft move not to exacerbate tensions before a possible pathway for reconciliation is evolved. What are your thoughts?

Let us be honest here. Reconciliation only comes when there is willingness on the part of the opposing sides to sheath their swords. Do you know that Fintiri has given a standing order to all his appointees that none should visit Atiku? He has made it a policy that anyone amongst his appointees who dare visit Atiku will be shown the way out. Even Adamu Atiku was spared from that fury because Atiku is his own father. Can anyone who wants to chart a roadmap take such a drastic stand?

In the interview, Madagali also laid claim to the fact that Fintiri has also used his might and influence to assist Atiku during conventions of the party. What do you have to say here?

That is another farce and lazy submission that cannot be supported by facts. At no time Fintiri played such role. Since Madagali may not be around when that incident took place. I think I have a duty to lecture him on the actual happenings in the lead to 2019 general election.

In 2017 when Atiku wanted to defect from APC to PDP, he was given the latitude by the national secretariat to single handedly appoint a caretaker committee and to strengthen party’s structure from the ward, local government to state level. To do that, Atiku appointed late Adamu Modibbo alongside my humble self to carry out that task for him. Because non indigenes were expected to lead the caretaker committee, Adamu Modibbo assigned two of his friends Muhammad Imam and Kataps now the SSG of Taraba State who are his classmates from Borno and Taraba States to take charge. I happened to be part of the arrangement and worked closely with Modibbo to ensure the success of that project.

As journalists, I want you to cross-check these facts from Mohammed Imam who is a close associate of Fintiri now and Kataps who is now an SSG in Taraba State. Atiku was the person who bankrolled the accommodation, feeding and transport of the caretaker committee. To be precise they where accommodated in a hotel at the back of government house. At the time we submitted the names of the caretaker committee members and assured Atiku they are equal to the task of putting up viable structures. We have even succeeded in putting up structures at the ward and local government levels when suddenly another challenge erupted with the coming of Fintiri into the horizon.

At that time Fintiri who apparently lacked the muscle to change the scenario as usual deployed divisive politics and used Biri Farare and Mohammed Bassi who approached Jauro Turaki to help him plead with Atiku not to allow Modibbo to go ahead because it may be mistaken as a complete Hausa/Fulani project since both Atiku and Modibbo are from the ethnic stock.

As a person with listening ears, Atiku allowed reason to prevail and that is what led to the Fintiri takeover of the project. But Atiku insisted that A.T Shehu should be made the state chairman against the wishes of Fintiri and that is why since that time, A.T Shehu and Fintiri have operated at cross purposes. In our previous arrangement with Modibbo, we have pencilled down Abdurrahman Bobboi, Fintiri’s Adviser on politics as the party chairman before we were dissolved. For the sake of political correctness, Fintiri decided to carry Bobboi along since then. With this narration Madagali should know that it was Atiku who carried Fintiri along not the other way round.

Let me state here that the narrative being put forward by Madagali that Fintiri helped Atiku in his local government cannot also be substantiated. Atiku who secured over 460,000 votes leading his first runner up, Tinubu with over 250,000 votes cannot be said to be assisted by a governor who won the said election amidst storms and controversies.

Had Fintiri didn’t send his ADC to intimidate electoral officers physically manhandling, and undermining the electoral process leading to the decimation of almost 60,000 votes belonging to Binani the story would have been different. Even at that, the difference between Binani and Fintiri was in the region of 6,000 votes before the run off was conducted. So how can someone who won election in controversial circumstances lay claim to assisting one who convincingly and decisively secured victory. It is the height of ungodliness.
