Minakaro lauds Fintiri over swift measures to contain Lamurde communal violence
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Peace and Security, Hon. Desmond Minakaro, has strongly condemned the recent violent attacks in communities across Lamurde Local Government Area, describing the incident as “very unfortunate and deeply regrettable.”
In a statement issued on Saturday, Minakaro expressed concern over the rising wave of violence in the area, recalling that only a few weeks ago, tensions flared between the Waja and Lunguda communities, and now a fresh conflict has erupted between the Bachama and Chobo groups — both incidents occurring within the same local government.

The SSA commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for swiftly declaring a 24-hour curfew on Friday to forestall further breakdown of law and order, noting that such decisive action underscores the administration’s commitment to the protection of lives and property.
He appealed to residents, particularly the youth, to remain law-abiding and strictly observe the curfew, urging them to cooperate fully with security agencies working to restore peace in the troubled communities.
“The government is committed to ensure that those behind this unrest are brought to justice,” Minakaro assured.
Minakaro also called on the people of Lamurde to be their brother’s keeper and embrace peaceful coexistence, emphasizing that no development can thrive without unity and stability.
While assuring that a thorough investigation into the conflict is already underway, he reiterated that Governor Fintiri will not tolerate any attempt to undermine the relative peace being enjoyed across the state.
The SSA appealed to the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA) and well-meaning individuals to urgently provide humanitarian assistance to women and children who have been displaced and are currently taking refuge in neighboring communities.
