Sen. Yaroe distributes 810 bags of fertilizer, other farm implements to cinstituents
Rural farmers in communities across nine Local Government Areas (LGAs) that constitute Adamawa Southern Senatorial District have a cause to smile as the Senator representing the District, Senator (Rev) Binos Dauda Yaroe saw the need to distribute 810 bags of fertilizer and 450 cartoons of herbicides, making the total of 1,260 items alongside other farm inputs.
This gesture was highly commendable as the hoe-masters got these farm elements on time to enable them plan ahead, with high expectations of good yields at the end of the cropping season.

Being a farmer himself, Senator Binos knows the actual time that farmers are in need of fertilizer and other farm elements, hence he acted accordingly.
Addressing pressmen shortly after the distribution exercise, Mr Katawan Boniface, the Director-General Binos Campaign Team, disclosed that no fewer than 810 bags of fertilizer and 450 cartoons of herbicides were distributed, with each of the 9 LGA receiving 90 bags of fertilizer and 50 cartoons of herbicides.
According to Katawan, effective mechanisms were put in place to ensure transparency and accountability in the distribution process, noting that only vulnerable farmers would benefit from the exercise.
He pointed out, “The farmers have been selected from various political parties and different backgrounds. Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe is the Senator for the whole people of Adamawa Southern Senatorial District, and he ensures his constituents benefit from his programmes and dividends of democracy irrespective of their political or ethnic backgrounds.
“This is the first batch of the distribution for this rainy season. We believe that these bags of fertilizer and cartoons of herbicides will go a long way in helping the local farmers in this early stage of the rainy season. The bags of fertilizer are all 50kg and all the cartoons of herbicides contain 12 containers of one litre each. These farm elements will help in no small measures”.
He said that Senator Binos thought it wise to assist the farmers when they needed the items most, adding that the Senator is committed and determined to ensuring farmers in Adamawa Southern Senatorial District are empowered to enable them enhance farming activities in the District.
He revealed, “We intend to reach out to 50 farmers per Ward. In Adamawa Southern Senatorial District, there are 93 Wards. If you multiple 93 by 50, you will realize that about 4,650 farmers will benefit. This is huge”.
While calling on the benefiting hoe-masters to use the farm elements for the purpose intended, Katawan assured the people of Adamawa South that more people-oriented programmes to boost agricultural activities are underway for the benefit of farmers and betterment of the society.
Also speaking, Mal. Usman Inuwa, an ally of Senator Binos Dauda, expressed gratitude to the Senator for prompt distribution of bags of fertilizer and cartoons of herbicides to farmers across the Adamawa South 9 LGAs. He described Binos as someone who has the interest of his constituents at heart.
Mr Raymond Robinson, Binos Team Coordinator for Guyuk LGA, told journalists that the event was the first distribution exercise to be carried out by Senator Binos D. Yaroe for the benefit of farmers as the rainy season unfolds.
According to Raymond, “We have selected beneficiaries from each Ward, from different political parties. Those who benefitted from the previous distributions may not benefit this time. It is a deliberate decision because we want the distribution to go round. The selection was transparent, because we want the people of Adamawa Southern Senatorial District to feel the positive impact of good representation.
“This is what Senator Binos has been doing year-in year-out. We normally do that every year. It is like a culture. We do the distribution in batches. This is the first batch. Those who don’t benefit from this batch will benefit in the next batch. We just want to ensure farmers, cut across all Wards, benefit from the distribution exercise”.
He was optimistic that the farmers would not sell the farm items because they selected peasant farmers that are dire need of the farm elements to boost their farm produce.
On his part, Hon. Gibson Ma’aji, representative of Lamurde LGA, said that Senator Binos Yaroe tasked them to be fair and just in the distribution process, noting that transparency was the watchword.
In his words, “In Lamurde LGA, we already put in place an effective mechanism that helped us to select real farmers that are in dire need of these farm elements. We have assured that the farm inputs reach the targeted beneficiaries”.
Representatives of the other LGAs, who interacted with journalists, assured Senator Binos Yaroe of transparency and accountability in the distribution process, calling on the benefiting farmers to use the farm items for the purpose intended.

The distribution exercise of the bags of fertilizer (50kg) and cartoons of herbicides to the 9 LGA representatives for onward distribution was held at Mayo-Belwa LGA yesterday under the supervision of Mr Katawan Boniface.
