‎Mustapha Salihu donates N10m, assorted food items to Hong flood victims

‎In an unprecedented show of empathy and solidarity with victims of the recent flood disaster that ravaged Hong LGA of Adamawa State, the North East National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Mustapha Salihu, has donated the sum of ₦10 million alongside assorted food items to affected families.

‎The donation, which was presented to the traditional ruler of Huba Chiefdom, HRM Alheri Bulus Nyako, is part of Salihu’s personal intervention to cushion the hardship currently faced by residents who lost their homes, farmlands, and belongings to the disaster.

‎The flood, which displaced hundreds of households across several communities in Hong LGA, has been described as one of the worst in recent years.

‎In an interview with newsmen, Salihu who hails from the local government said the gesture was motivated by a deep sense of responsibility and compassion for his people at a time of distress.

‎He explained that although no amount of money or material aid could fully replace the lives and livelihoods destroyed by the flood, the donation was aimed at providing immediate succour to ease the burden on affected families.

‎“This disaster has brought untold hardship to our people in Hong. As a son of the soil and a servant of the people, it is my duty to stand with my people in this very difficult moment.

‎”The cash support and food items we are presenting are only a token of our love and solidarity,” Salihu stated.

‎The relief materials, which include bags of rice, maize, beans, cartons of noodles, vegetable oil, and other essentials, presented to the royal father who expressed great joy for the kind gesture at a very critical hour of need..

‎HRM Nyako noted that a high powered committee involving different segments of community leaders will be constituted to ensure the items are equitably shared among displaced families and appealed for more support from corporate bodies, politicians, and humanitarian organizations.
