WWK9 concludes basic dog handler’s course in Kuje
Worldwide Canine Nigeria Limited (WWK9) has concluded the Basic Dog Handler’s Course at the Aviation Security Training Facility, Kuje, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening aviation security in Nigeria.
The program, which ran for several days, was designed to equip aviation security personnel with essential skills in canine handling, in line with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. Participants were trained in detection techniques, operational discipline, and best practices for safeguarding civil aviation.

At the closing ceremony, the Country Manager of WWK9 applauded the participants for their dedication and urged them to carry forward the professionalism they had displayed during training.
“As you step forward, remember that canine detection is a vital standard under ICAO and an essential pillar in safeguarding civil aviation. The knowledge you have acquired here is not just for personal growth, but for the safety of passengers, infrastructure, and the nation at large,” he said.
The event featured goodwill messages from aviation security stakeholders, presentation of certificates to participants, and a group photograph to commemorate the successful completion of the training.
With the conclusion of the course, the newly trained handlers are expected to deploy their skills in enhancing safety and security across Nigeria’s airports.
