Dep Gov Farauta Speaks At AUN Intl Conference Proffer Solutions To Food Insecurity
Adamawa Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta has advocated for traditional methods of storage and preservation of farm produce to tackle increasing consumption of chemical contaminated food stuff.
Speaking at 3rd international conference of the American University of Nigeria, Yola in her paper presentation ‘a multidisciplinary to confronting security and food crisis in Nigeria’ Farauta frowns at improper storage of food with chemicals, thereby resulting in dead of people.

She recommended the need to applied cutting edge digital solutions to security and agricultural problems facing the nation.
She recommended that the traditional agricultural methods that produced the groundnut pyramids, multiple cocoa bags, and endless barrels of oil palm be revived.
She also tasked engineers, technologists, and technicians on designing and fabricating simple engineering, technological and technical tools that can address the problems of insecurity and food shortage.
Earlier, the AUN president Dewayne Frazier, represented by the provost and deputy vice chancellor academics professor Paul Vita said the institution through the conference, aims to provide policymakers and security agencies with evidence based insights and actionable recommendations, enabling informed decision making and effective policy formulations.
As such, the forum demonstrate a shared vision to leverage research, and cross sector collaboration in developing sustainable, data driven and inclusive solutions.
It also underscores the significance of integrating perspectives from agriculture, technology, economics, governance, and social science to build resilient communities, strengthen national security, and ensure food sufficiency.
