Fintiri relaxes curfew in Lamurde as calm returns, warns perpetrators
The Adamawa State Government has eased the curfew in Lamurde Local Government Area, allowing movement from 6am to 10pm, effective immediately.
The state government has imposed a 24 hour curfew following a violent ethnic conflict between Bachama and Tsobo communities in the local government late last year which was later relaxed after relative peace has returned.

A statement by the governor’s chief press secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou said, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri also issued a stern warning against perpetrators of conflict to desist from inflaming tension.
“This gesture shouldn’t be taken lightly. Those behind the violence have been identified and will face consequences. The era of leniency is over; anyone breaking the law will be arrested and prosecuted,” the statement said.
The governor however advised law-abiding citizens to go about their businesses peacefully.
“The government will protect your rights and freedoms, but won’t hesitate to act against troublemakers. You’ve been warned. The government is watching, and justice will be served. Don’t test our patience,” the governor further restarted.
Governor Fintiri appealed to the parties to maintain peace and order in Lamurde local government as no development can take place in the absence of peace and harmony.
