Mustapha Salihu Promises to Make Adamawa Industrial Hub if Elected
A frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Mustapha Salihu, has pledged to transform Adamawa State into one of Nigeria’s leading industrial and agricultural hubs if elected governor in 2027.
Salihu made the declaration during his ongoing “meet the people” tour in Fufore Local Government Area, where he sought the support and blessings of party members, traditional rulers and residents ahead of the governorship race.

Addressing a large gathering of supporters in Fufore, the APC chieftain said his administration would build on the achievements of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri by attracting industries to improve infrastructure and expand agricultural production across the state.
According to him, Adamawa possesses enormous human and natural resources capable of turning the state into a major economic destination in Northern Nigeria.
He particularly promised to develop Fufore into a centre for food production and agro-industrial activities, with special emphasis on rice farming and processing.
“If given the opportunity to serve as governor, I will leverage on the existing foundations and transform Adamawa into an industrial hub of Nigeria,” Salihu stated.
“I am asking for your blessings and support in my quest to govern Adamawa State. There is no better place to begin this appeal than Fufore, my hometown. I am your son, my mother is from here and I know you will never abandon me on this journey,” he added.
The governorship hopeful stressed that industrialisation remains one of the surest ways of creating jobs for youths, reducing poverty and boosting internally generated revenue for the state.
He said his administration would create the enabling environment for investors, improve access to electricity and support local farmers with modern agricultural inputs and processing facilities.
During the visit, Salihu and members of his entourage paid homage to the Emir of Fufore, Alhaji Sani Ribadu, where he solicited royal blessings and support for his aspiration.
Speaking at the palace, Salihu assured the emirate that Fufore would witness unprecedented development under his leadership, particularly in agriculture and infrastructure.
He noted that the area has huge agricultural potential capable of supporting large-scale rice production and agro-allied industries that could provide employment opportunities for thousands of residents.
The APC governorship aspirant also commended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as efforts towards improving security, peace and economic development across the country.
He cited the approval for the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) project in Fufore as part of the federal government’s commitment to improve electricity supply and boost economic activities in the area.
Salihu explained that improved power supply would encourage industrial growth and enhance the living conditions of residents.
“One of the major interventions approved for this area by President Tinubu’s administration is the Transmission Company of Nigeria project which will improve electricity supply in Fufore and surrounding communities,” he said.
In his remarks, the Emir of Fufore, Alhaji Sani Ribadu, expressed appreciation to Salihu for maintaining strong ties with the people of the area and contributing to developmental efforts in the emirate.
The traditional ruler noted that the APC stalwart has consistently demonstrated commitment to the progress of Fufore and its people.
“I have already approved the land requested for the establishment of the TCN project facilitated by Mustapha Salihu,” the monarch disclosed.
